Chapter 18
Zee and the Tribe

Kyru cracked his eyes open, shivering he got up. He would have slept by Sheer... he looked over at her, so peaceful again. Kyru sighed deeply, ears flopping back against his neck. Unfurling his wings Kyru stretched them out and examined his broken one, the membrane was coming together quite nice but the fingers of the wing where taking a longer time to heal. Slowly flapping the wing a small amount of air made the membrane stick out, not enough to get Kyru off the ground but it was something... maybe he'll be able to do some gliding, who knows. Kyru's ears pricked hearing Kari getting up, she sat up and stretched out her arms above her head.
“Morning Kyru!” she said in an overly joyful voice.
“Morning.” Kyru didn't even look up, he was still mad at Kari. She got up. Paws scrabbeling against the stone as she came over to Kyru. Slight frown on her face she sat in front of her brother.
“Come on.” She started, a slight growl forming in her chest. “You should just leave her, if someone is being hostile to her then you know that is trouble!”
“You've never loved someone have you, so you shouldn't be judging us!” he snapped back, he had had enough of his sister and her stupid ideas. Why couldn't she understand what Kyru was going through!?
“So!? I listened in on your little conversation!” she snarled baring her teeth, that usually meant that she wasn't joking around. “She's had a different mate, she could just as easily go back to him. You're being a brainless idiot! Even more so then Halfblood!” Kyru noticed that Halfblood and awoken and was staring at the two, if he was up then Sheer and Skye where probably up too.
“I know that.” Kyru's voice came out quite as it rang around the silent cave. “But I don't think she'd do that... and you would have known that seeing the events of yesterday!” Kyru yelled back.
Kari's ears flopped back, eyes looking at Kyru with full disgust. Kyru could see the rage coming from her, Kari also seemed to be a bit saddened. Kyru continued to stare at his sister, she just growled and went back to Halfblood who gave Kyru a frown, it didn't make Kyru feel better at all... it only made him feel like he had hurt his sister. More things to drive him and Kari further apart. Kyru looked around the cave, gaze stopping on Sheer.
“Er... let's go to Zee now,” Skye shakily broke the silence. Kyru nodded padding after the dark blue aura. He followed Skye, Sheer padding next to him and the other two following behind them. They climbed higher and soon the rock was covered with snow, it wasn't deep but it was cold enough to see your breath billow into the air. Kyru saw a valley below them and soon enough they found a path that lead down there. Skye lead them down into the valley, Kyru managed to see many other auras, some a greenish tint like his, other's a blue like Skye and Kari, some a red. It was strange to see that many dragons all in one place.
Skye led them to the entrance, all of the dragosn where either chatting or doing something, once Skye entered with the group everyone stopped what they where doing and stared at us, Kyru felt a bit uneased by it all. Skye soon stopped in the clearing, she was trembling slightly. “Who are these dragons!?” a loud booming voice rang out over the cleaning, it sounded female though. Looking up Kyru saw a yellow aura standing on a fallen tree.
“Um... er... we... I mean I found these four at the narrow pass in out territory.” Skye started looking at the ground. Kyru moved a bit closer to Sheer, he had glanced at her and fear seemed to be the main emotion. Kyru also spotted the grinning idiot of a Treloth, Kyru tried to ignore his glare directed at him.
“Sheer.” the dragon snarled the word, so full of hatred... Kyru looked back up at the dragon. “The other three aren't from around here... they have not done a crime here and thus are allowed to leave.”
“But Zee! Those three trespassed on out territory!” Treloth exclaimed, anger pulsing in his voice, Kyru thought that Treloth might want to beat him up. Zee shook her head and looked at Treloth.
“It would be unnecessary to keep these dragons here, take Sheer from them and make sure the others get out and away from the camp.” Kyru pressed himself against Sheer not wnating her to leave, he could hear Halfblood and Kari already being escorted out. Skye turned towards Kyru.
“Sorry... but can you please leave?” she asked quietly obviously not wanting there to be a fight. Kyru shook his head, even if he had doubted Sheer yesterday that didn't mean he'd do anything for her. Treloth came towards him and grabbed Kyru's shoulder trying to push him back, Kyru growled again, this growl low and vicious. Treloth only sunk his huge claw into Kyru's shoulder, Kyru winced but kept growling.
“Get him out of here!” Zee ordered and soon Treloth and three other dragons where trying to get Kyru out, he struggled as two dragons pushed him by his shoulders and two dragons where pulling him by his tail.  Soon enough though they had gotten him out, then it was Halfblood's turn to drag Kyru back up the path and to where the mountains dipped down into the valley. Kyru, Kari, and Halfblood sat there as Kyru refused to go anywhere else.
“What has happened to you!?” Kari snarled. “You used to be so kind towards us and now that you've fallen in love all you want to do is be with Sheer!” Kyru only grunted saying nothing. “Well then at least read what is on the paper.”
Kyru reluctantly grabbed the floating rock the paper sat on from Halfblood had and started to read. “Leave thy loved ones behind.” He began, voice starting to shake. “And thy will complete thy quest.”
“HA!” Kari seemed to insult Kyru for reading that “I told you!”
“Kyru didn't listen as he read on. “But then thy quest is for nothing, there are five elements, and only when the strongest four have arrived shall the other stones reveal themselves.” Kari went silent. “Look in your heart and you will see the truth.” Kyru finished and looked over at Kari, once he did that his ears flopped back as he hadn't seen the sadness and jealousy rising from her.
“Fine... go back for that stupid dragon.” Kari said looking away from Kyru, Kyru started to feel worse knowing that he had been neglecting his sister for so long. Moving away from the floating rock he wrapped his arms around Kari, she tried to get away but soon just sat there. “Why?”
“You're my sister and that isn't about to change.” Kyru felt Kari hug him back, the sadness and part of the jealousy was gone, it was replaced by sibling like love.
“Thanks.” she replied softly. Halfblood soon joined them and hugged both Kari and Kyru almost squishing them to hard. Once the hugging was gone Halfblood and Kari went out to go get some food not knowing that Kyru was making a plan to get Sheer back.

It had taken quite a while for Halfblood and Kari to get back with three rabbits which they each shared equally. Kyru would glance back at the camp from time to time seeing all of the auras, Sheer's aura was gone but soon enough, once the moon started to rise above the horizon, her aura popped up again. Kyru watched them as Zee gathered everyone around. Now there where many other auras, Treloth's aura was standing next to Sheer, probably to keep her down or something. He saw a red aura that seemed to be protesting while a green aura protested against that, Kyru wasn't sure. But when all of the auras started to move towards Sheer did he know he had to do something. Unfurling his wings he felt the cold wind lift him up a little, making a running start he jumped off of the cliff.
He could hear Kari and Halfblood gasp in shock and confusing but it was too late for them to do anything as Kyru started to make his way down to the camp. He was able to glide a bit even if it was unsteady, growls started to ring in the air.
“Now... attack!” Kyru heard Zee as it seemed she had reached a verdict.
“STOP!” Kyru yelled landing in the clearing. “I'll do anything just don't hurt Sheer!”
